Racing: Barton finds favourite spot

Barton Bank has been installed the 6-1 favourite in Ladbrokes' opening book on the Hennessy Gold Cup at Newbury a fortnight on Saturday.

David Nicholson's 11-year-old, who is due to carry top-weight of 11st 13lb in the Hennessy, is two points shorter than Francois Doumen's Djeddah and Venetia Williams' Celtic Abbey, who share second favouritism at 8- 1.
