1.10: Mark Pitman's stable, following a terrific start to the season, is going through a quiet spell at present. It may well, however, prove futile to oppose MONSIGNOR who should outclass these rivals.

1.45: Simply Dashing has the ability to concede weight all round but his chance depends largely on whether a recent wind operation has worked. French challenger ROYALTINO is something of a dark horse, not having raced in Britain since a hurdles victory at Kempton almost three years ago. But he has soft-ground form, represents a shrewd and powerful stable and could easily be the surprise packet today. Hennessy runner-up Spendid should be in the shake-up, but Sounds Like Fun looks harshly treated for his last-time-out win in a weak race at Sandown.

2.20: There is a theory that Deano's Beeno is better suited by a flatter track like Newbury, where he scooted in three weeks ago. ANZUM, 18 lengths back in third then, reopposes on the same weight terms today but will be fitter now. In addition, the extra furlong and an uphill finish will both be very much in his favour.

WARWICK

2.10: Philip Hobbs has a high opnion of GOOD LORD MURPHY. The trainer believes that this season the seven-year-old is capable of winning prizes against better opposition than this.

2.45: In The Blood gets his beloved soft ground today but is seen as a Grand National horse at home so may find one or two too speedy at 2m4f these days. FOURTH IN LINE, who faded only on the run-in over 2m5f at Cheltenham last time, looks best.

3.20: Golden Goal was a 1-3 shot when winning easily at Fakenham 12 days ago but has a little more on his plate this afternoon. Prokoviev hails from an in-form yard, while PEBBLE MOON has run well in the mud on the Flat. The latter was beaten 17 lengths in a 10-runner novice hurdle won by Clandestine at Newbury last month, but that run may turn out to have been no disgrace.

UTTOXETER

2.30: The going found out many of yesterday's contestants on this track and horses proven on testing ground seem likely to be in the ascendant again. Sad Mad Bad is thoroughly game but could find this distance beyond him today. ALL THE ACES is getting long in the tooth and will be 13 in a fortnight, but at least he has proven form at three miles in such conditions.

3.05: Gladiateur IV handles the soft well and Glenn Tormey's mount looks nailed on to reach the frame. Denham Hill would have a chance if Charlie Mann's yard can return to form. GUILDER is another who has shown an appreciation for mud and further encouragement is that the Paul Webber stable - which has been going through a lean spell - had a Folkestone winner yesterday.

3.40: Kilbride Lad is made for a slog like this but the topweight's fitness on his reappearance must be taken on trust. Di Haine's runners are showing up well and her COOL PERFORMANCE must be feared if the colt can recapture the form of his facile win in heavy ground at Plumpton (2m 4f) back in January.
