Racing: Hyperion's TV tips - Prairie to thrive in a wide-open sprint

2.15: Brave Reward sweated up badly before finishing unplaced at a sweltering Sandown earlier this month. That run can be safely ignored and this colt will be tough to beat today. Flag Fen often sets a fast pace, which would really suit ANOTHER TIME. Dane O'Neill's mount is best when held up in a strongly-run race. He likes to hear his feet rattle and, at double- figure odds, deserves to get the vote.

2.45: With early-paced runners berthed in high and low stalls, any advantage conferred by the draw is difficult to detect. But it should be best to trust the stands' side to have an edge, particularly with the speedy Flanders breaking from stall 2. Three-year-olds have shown up well in this contest in recent years, filling the first two placings 12 months ago. Flanders was caught only in the final stride at Newmarket on Friday night (5f), but she could hold on to make all the running on this less demanding track. More attractive odds are on offer, however, for RED PRAIRIE, who loves firm ground. He finished a

11/2-length runner-up to Rambling Bear in the Group Three Palace House Stakes at Newmarket in May. Michael Bell's colt, getting the same 9lb now, can reverse those placings this afternoon.

3.20: Just In Time frequently sets a scorching pace and has Gary Stevens in the saddle today. The American is a brilliant tactician on front-runners. Borgia seemed to benefit from the skills of Richard Hughes at Newbury last time and the partnership look likely to figure well from near the foot of the weights. MOWBRAY is a quirky customer, but looks very well handicapped. His stable has hit form of late and he's worth a risk at odds of 16-1.

3.50: KING ADAM was the comfortable winner of a Listed contest at Kempton on his only run so far this season. He should take this step up into Group Three company in his stride and should not be opposed in what does not look that tough a contest.
