Racing: Trainer, jockey - and horse - banned
The trainer Martin Todhunter was fined pounds 1,500, the jockey John Stack banned for eight days and the horse Kwikpoint suspended for 30 days yesterday at a Jockey Club inquiry held under the non-triers rule.
The hearing examined the running of Kwikpoint at Catterick on 20 September. They found the jockey had made insufficient effort and this was due to the trainer's instructions.
Stack's suspension runs from 14-22 October, while Kwikpoint will not be able to run until 11 November.
Fifty firefighters yesterday put out a fire at Luca Cumani's Newmarket stable. There were no injuries.
