Rugby League: Fox keeps in the hunt
DERYCK FOX, the Bradford Northern skipper, kept his nerve and his team in the title chase with a drop goal two minutes from time at Sheffield Eagles yesterday. Bradford's 29-28 victory kept them second in the table behind Warrington and they were made to fight all the way by a Sheffield side inspired by the Frenchman David Fraisse, who scored two tries. Brimah Kebbie scored a hat-trick for Bradford.
The stand-off Martin Pearson's four goals, together with a fine individual try, proved the difference for Featherstone as they shared six touchdowns with visiting Halifax. Featherstone won 20-16.
The Wales v France match in Cardiff, scheduled for next month, has been put back to Friday 4 March. The original fixture clashed with a Five Nations rugby union international on the same weekend.
