Rugby Union: Springboks bounce back
The Springboks followed their first Test defeat with a convincing 38-17 victory over the highly rated Waikato in Hamilton yesterday. The South Africans led 21-10 at half-time and for the first time made full use of their talented backline. The New Zealanders, holders of the coveted Ranfurly Shield, put up stiff resistance but three first-half Springbok tries - two in quick succession by the star winger James Small - soon had them firmly on the defensive.
