TOM WALKINSHAW is bidding to take full control of Gloucester in return for increasing his financial commitment to the club.

A special meeting of club members has been called for 1 July to consult fans about his proposal to buy up the rest of the available shares. He owns 73 per cent of the club and the new plan would increase his stake to 98 per cent.

Ireland have made three changes in their team to play Australia at Perth in the second Test on Saturday. Girvan Dempsey comes in for full-back Conor O'Shea, who broke his jaw in the defeat in Brisbane last week, Trevor Brennan takes over from injured flanker Vic Costello, and Malcolm O'Kelly edges Jeremy Davidson out of the second row.

IRELAND (v Australia, Perth, Saturday): G Dempsey; J Bishop, B O'Driscoll, K Maggs, M Mostyn; D Humphreys, T Tierney; P Wallace, K Wood, P Clohessy, M O'Kelly, P Johns, D O'Cuinneagain (capt), A Ward, T Brennan. Replacements: J Bell, E Elwood, C Scally, J Davidson, R Corrigan, R Nesdale.
