The Springbok flanker Luke Watson made his debut for Bath in the Anglo-Welsh Cup yesterday, scoring a try in a 21-11 win over the Ospreys at the Recreation Ground.

Watson said: "I've only been here a week and a half and it's all been a bit chaotic, a bit of a rush. I knew it was going to be physical. I really enjoyed it. The main thing for me was to remember all the moves, try to fit into the structures, adapt as quickly as I could into the Bath strategy and fit into their style of play."

Daniel Browne scored Bath's other try and Ryan Davis kicked 11 points. Justin Tipuric scored the Ospreys' try and Barry Davies and Gareth Owen kicked a penalty each.

Rhys Priestland scored 17 points as the Scarlets beat Worcester 32-17 in Wales. The fly-half scored a try and kicked three conversions and two penalties. The Welsh side led 20-3 at the break after tries from Darren Daniel and David Lyons, George Crook having kicked a penalty for Worcester. Daniel Evans and Priestland scored second-half tries for the Scarlets; Matt Cox and Graham Kitchener scored for Worcester. Calum MacRae converted both tries.

At Welford Road, Leicester beat the Newport-Gwent Dragons 29-20. Jordan Crane, the No 8 dropped by England after last week's defeat by Australia, scored a try for the Tigers, as did the centre Anthony Allen. Jeremy Staunton and Toby Flood kicked two penalties each and Staunton converted a penalty try. Jason Tovey, Aled Brew and Rhodri Gomer-Davies scored tries for the Dragons, Shaun Connor kicked a conversion and a penalty.

Today, Cardiff Blues host London Irish, Harlequins travel to Newcastle and Wasps are at home to Gloucester.
