Brian O'Driscoll to captain Lions in next match as Alex Corbisiero gets his chance
Sunday 09 June 2013
Ireland center Brian O'Driscoll will captain the injury-hit British and Irish Lions and England prop Alex Corbisiero will make his debut against a Combined Country side in Newcastle north of Sydney on Tuesday.
Corbisiero arrived in Brisbane on yesterday from England's tour of Argentina and will start in a team with fellow tour replacement Ryan Grant named on the bench. Scotland fullback Stuart Hogg will be the flyhalf.
Props Cian Healy (left ankle ligaments) and Gethin Jenkins (calf muscle) are due to fly out of Australia on Sunday due to their injuries.
The Lions, led by regular captain Sam Warburton, received the toughest test of their tour in a 22-12 win over Queensland yesterday. The first of three tests against Australia is on June 22 in Brisbane.
