New Zealand 28 England 27 player ratings: Could anyone top All Blacks full-back Ben Smith in the second Test in Dunedin?

New Zealand claimed a narrow 28-27 victory in the second Test to seal the series with a game to spare

England were battered into submission on Saturday as New Zealand claimed a narrow 28-27 victory in the second Test between the two sides to clinch a series win with a game to spare.

Tries from Ben Smith, Julian Savea and Ma’a Nonu saw the All Blacks cancel out Marland Yarde’s early score, and despite late tries from Mike Brown and Chris Ashton, England once again fell just short of the finishing line as they lost by less than a score for the second time in seven days.

Stuart Lancaster’s side will have a final chance to record a rare victory in New Zealand next weekend in the third Test, but they will have to avoid performing like they did in the first 20 minutes after half-time, where New Zealand blew them away in a period of domination rarely seen on the international stage.
