Britain was more than holding its own in a hastily organised head to head with France for the Challenge Taittinger at the Channel Handicap regatta in Cowes yesterday. Robbie Cameron-Davies beat the French selection in class one, though he lost to non-team member David Walters, while in the secondary team event, using only class two boats, Huw Alan-Davies and Paul King came first and second, Jean-Louis Fabry third. Britain also had the top spot in class three through Tony Cox and were ahead of the French in class three, courtesy of a win by Don Forster.
