SCOTTISH FOOTBALL: Motherwell lead the chase
Motherwell face the aristocrats of Rangers at Fir Park today - determined to prevent the champions running away with another Premier Division title.
The former Aberdeen and Scotland defender, Alex McLeish, is barely six months into the job as Motherwell's player-manager, yet he has already succeeded in providing a championship challenge to Rangers while others have fallen by the wayside. However, defeat today would leave second-placed Motherwell 10 points behind Rangers.
"It's a pressure game, but I'm sure my players will relish that kind of pressure," McLeish said. "I felt that last season Motherwell were the breath of fresh air in what I thought was an ordinary league." Miodrag Krivokapic may keep his place in the Motherwell defence, while Rangers will be without Andy Goram and Ally McCoist.
