A salvage operation was underway in Maribor, Slovenia, yesterday in an attempt to save two women's World Cup races scheduled for this weekend. Snow is melting because of warm weather and the lower part of the Pohorje Mountain course has already been ruined.
Yesterday's official practice before today's scheduled men's downhill World Cup race in Whistler, Canada, was cancelled because of fog.
