GARY JACOBS had hardly regained his breath in Paris on Friday night after a tough points loss to Ludovic Proto, on a split decision, before moves were put in motion to secure a European welterweight title rematch.

CARDIFF's Nicky Piper is again being lined up for a shot at the WBC international super-middleweight title. Piper, British boxing's only member of Mensa, is to face either the unbeaten Russian Oleg Volkov or Larry Musgrove, of the US, in Cardiff on 11 November.

LLANELLI'S new British super-featherweight champion, Neil Haddock, is being lined up for a home-town defence in December against Steve Walker.
