DONINGTON PARK officials yesterday insisted that both the Formula One Grand Prix of Europe and the British Motorcycle Grand Prix would go ahead despite the local authority, Leicestershire County Council, denying them permission to stage both events.
DAMON HILL yesterday produced the fastest lap for the fourth time in five days in his Williams-Renault to complete a week of trials at Estoril, Portugal. His French team-mate, Alain Prost, the triple world champion, followed close behind. The third fastest, the Austrian, Karl Wendlinger, in a Sauber-Mercedes, was nearly a second slower than Hill.
