JAMES WATTANA, of Thailand, ended Jimmy White's run of 14 successive wins yesterday when he defeated the Londoner 5-2 in the quarter-finals of the Regal Welsh Open in Newport. Wattana was joined in the last four by Alan McManus, who reached his fifth consecutive world ranking tournament semi-final with a 5-2 victory over Nigel Bond, the surprise conqueror of the defending champion, Stephen Hendry.
