IVAN LENDL, newly of the United States, won his first title since August last year when he beat his fellow American, Richey Reneberg, 6-3, 6-3, in the final of the US Pro Championship in Brookline, Massachusetts. 'This is the best I've been playing in two years,' said Lendl, who last Sunday lost to Andre Agassi in the final of the Canadian Open in Montreal. 'It's just a matter of keeping it going and getting more and more confidence.' Against Reneberg, Lendl and his behind-the- baseline game were in full force. Reneberg had his moments in the second set, winning a love game to bring it to 1-1 and dropping two volleys just over the net to cut his deficit to 4-2. But Lendl broke Reneberg in the fourth game and won the final game of the match to love.
