Olympic Games
Japan's second and third largest cities, Yokohama and Osaka, are officially in the running for the 2008 Olympics after submitting their formal proposals to the Japan Olympic Committee last week. The IOC is scheduled to vote on the 2004 site this September and sites that fail in bids are likely to carry over their attempts to the 2008 race.
