THE Britons, Richard Nerurkar, Dave Lewis and Gillian Stacey have withdrawn from Sunday's world cross- country championships in Amorebieta, Spain, with viral complaints.

CHARLES SYKES has broken the 94- year-old record for Sedbergh School's 'Wilson Run' over 10 miles 385 yards. His time of 1hr 8min 4sec beat the previous record set by Charles Pumphrey in 1899 by more than 2min.
