ROY McLAREN, of Worcestershire, has won the Test and County Cricket Board groundsman of the year award for 1993. He will receive pounds 1,000 prize for 'the very substantial improvement' in the New Road pitch. Ron Allsop, of Nottinghamshire, was the runner-up.
