Sporting Digest: Cycling
Michela Fanini, the Italian cyclist who won the 1994 women's Tour of Italy, was killed in a car crash yesterday. Fanini, 21, died when her Peugeot 205 car skidded off the road and hit a wall near the Tuscan town of Lucca.
Fanini also won three stages of the Tour de France this year.
