Wolverhampton Wanderers' managing director, John Richards, has been voted on to the Football League's board of directors as a First Division representative. Richards, 47, replaces the former Tranmere Rovers chairman, Frank Corfe.

Sheffield Wednesday have signed the Ipswich Town midfielder Danny Sonner for pounds 75,000.

Salvatore Fresi, the Internazionale defender, has moved to Serie A rivals Salernitana on loan. The two clubs will decide at the end of the season whether to make the move permanent.
