THE Cumbria side to play Australia in the opening game of the Kangaroo tour in October is to be coached by the Australian, Peter Walsh of Workington, and the New Zealander, Kurt Sorensen of Whitehaven.

SWINTON, of the Second Division, have transfer-listed four players after they turned down new contract offers. The loose forward Danny Whittle is on offer at pounds 20,000, with winger Brian Best, prop Jason Clark and second row Ian Smith priced at pounds 10,000 each. The utility back Mark Welsby has signed a new one-year contract.

LONDON BRONCOS, of the Second Division, have switched their opening game of the season to Carlisle this Sunday because their pitch at the Barnet Copthall Stadium is being re-seeded.
