Six hundred Gloucester Rugby Club members last night voted overwhelmingly to let the club's multi-millionaire backer, Tom Walkinshaw, take over their 25 per cent shareholding in the club. He now owns 98 per cent of shares.

Andy Marinos, the Western Province and Stormers centre, has said that he is considering an approach from the Welsh club Newport. The powerful 26-year-old would qualify for Wales through two of his grandparents.
