BARRY HEARN, who manages Steve Davis among others, has resigned from the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association because the governing body has decided not to sanction several events which Hearn promotes, including the World Matchplay. 'I believe the board's decision represents a serious restraint of trade and I intend to pursue my claims vigorously,' Hearn said. Davis said: 'In the light of the board's decision I must obviously review my own position on the board.'
