DAMIEN HARDMAN, of Australia, beat his compatriot Barton Lynch yesterday in the final of the Rip Curl Easter Pro competition, in Australia. Hardman scored 21.83 points to Lynch's 20.34 in the opening event of the 1993 world championship season. The defending world champion, Kelly Slater of the United States, lost to Lynch in the quarter-finals. Hardman leads the standings over Lynch, while the French-based Gary Elkerton and the Brazilian Flavio Padaratz are tied in third.
