Sir: They may have been at fault with their behaviour on the 17th hole, but the fuss over that and their supporters has overshadowed the fact that the United States achieved probably the greatest comeback in golfing history when they regained the Ryder Cup. And let's forget this holier-than-thou attitude surrounding the British fans and the next meeting in two years' time when the home support's performance will be as bad as anything seen at Brookline.
