NEXT MONTH'S Network Q RAC Rally, the 10th and final round of the FIA world championship, will provide a fitting conclusion to the season when Didier Auriol, of France, and the Spaniard Carlos Sainz do battle for the overall drivers' title.

This year's RAC Rally, from 20- 23 November, starts and finishes in Chester.

In between, the rally will have completed 29 high- speed special stages, taking the drivers through the Midlands, Yorkshire, Durham, the Scottish Borders, the Lake District and mid and south-west Wales.

The first day of the rally allows spectators to watch the cars at venues with easy access, parking and facilities. Parkland, stately homes, racing and hill climb circuits make up the day's stages over gravel and tarmac.

For further information on this year's event, Official Rally Programmes, of Leicester, produces the official complete spectator guide for pounds 5.95 plus pounds 1.95 postage and packing. The pack contains souvenir programme and stage map book. The programme on its own costs pounds 3 plus pounds 1.50 postage and packing.
