Jansher Khan extended his record number of World Open titles to eight yesterday with a commanding win over the Australian Rodney Eyles in the final in Karachi.

The world No 1 from Pakistan defeated Eyles 15-13, 17-15, 11-15, 15-3 in 71 minutes to move two titles clear of another Pakistan legend, Jahangir Khan.

Jansher now wants to win at least 10 World Opens and six British Opens to duplicate in reverse Jahangir's championship tally in the game's two most prestigious events.

"Actually I think I can win 11 or 12 World Opens if I keep playing until I am about 32," said the 27-year-old Jansher, who has five British Opens to his credit so far.

Eyles will take some consolation from a good early display that kept him within a point of the champion until 9-7 in the second game and earned him the chance of taking that game with a run of 9-13 to 14-13.
