Tennis: Agassi's agonies
Andre Agassi, suffering with a torn rib cartilage and the demands of a rain-hit schedule, lasted only 55 minutes against the world No 1, Pete Sampras, before losing 6-3, 6-1 in the Salem Open semi-finals in Osaka. In today's final, Sampras meets the French qualifier Lionel Roux, who eliminated Ivan Lendl and Aaron Krickstein this week and beat the Swede Henrik Holm in his semi.
