Tennis: Maleeva-Fragniere's final final
Manuela Maleeva-Fragniere swept aside Mana Endo in the semi-finals of the women's Asian Open at Amagasaki, in Japan, to move to within a match of ending her professional career on a high note. The Bulgarian-born Swiss, who will retire after this tournament, dominated with accurate baseline strokes, coasting to a 6-0, 6-3 victory. Maleeva-Fragniere, who will be 27 tomorrow, will play the improving Iva Majoli in today's final after the Croat defeated Japan's Ai Sugiyama 7-5, 7-5 in the other semi-final.
