Andy Murray has called for more clarity in the conduct of drugs cases, as sources here in Umag revealed that Marin Cilic, Croatia's best player, is attending a hearing in London today after failing a test earlier this summer.

Cilic, who has been the key figure in Croatia's Davis Cup team in recent years, has not played anywhere since Wimbledon after unconfirmed reports that he had tested positive for a banned substance at the Munich Open in April. Cilic has not commented on his situation, while the International Tennis Federation, which runs the sport's drug-testing programme, discloses details about cases only if tribunals find players guilty of offences.

Murray, commenting on the eve of Britain's Davis Cup tie here, said that he knew very little about Cilic's situation. "I think it's about time everyone knew what was going on," Murray said. "Everyone knows what's happening and he has clearly failed a drugs test, I just don't know why that can't come out. It's not that he's injured. I don't get that.

"Once it's out in the open, then whether the hearing took two months or three or fourth months, so long as he isn't playing in that period [it doesn't matter]. I think it's too long for nobody to say he has failed a drugs test."
