Thaw boosts turf prospects

Yesterday's thaw has improved prospects for racing this week. Forecasts predict that the biting frost will ease.

Plumpton and Ayr hold inspections this morning but are optimistic, and there are no problems at Southwell. Pros-pects for Nottingham and Musselburgh tomorrow are good.

However, Windsor on Wed-nesday and Towcester on Thursday are in doubt. Windsor inspect at 09.30 this morning and Towcester are set to hold an inspection tomorrow.
