Women's Football: US conquer Germany
JOY FAWCETT'S 66th-minute header earned the United States a hard- fought 3-2 victory over Germany in Maryland and a place in the women's World Cup semi-finals.
The Americans will now face Brazil at Spartan Stadium in San Francisco tomorrow.
In the Copa America, two goals from Martin Palermohelped Argentina to a 3-1 win over Ecuador in the first of the two games in Group C on Thursday. In the other, a vibrant Colombia beat Uruguay by a single goal scored by Victor Bonilla in the 27th minute.
