Hunt is on for top student

THE Convocation of the University of Ulster is seeking nominations for its first Convocation Student of the Year Award.

The award is open to all students currently registered at the university and will be made to a student or group of students who have demonstrated significant personal achievement or a substantial contribution to the life of the university, its students or the community.

This would include, for example, students who have overcome severe disability, who have won international prizes or who have raised significant sums for charity.

The award takes the form of a perpetual trophy and £500.

Nomination forms are available from the development and alumni relations office at Jordanstown, the students' union and faculty offices.

Nominations must be submitted no later than April 2. The first award will be made at the summer graduation ceremony.
