Current Twitter trends: McAfee, Facebook Places, Demi Lovato, Kayne West

For the sixth consecutive day, the name of the action comedy film " Scott Pilgrim" is the most talked about topic on Twitter.

" Inception" and " Expendables" have also become regular fixtures in the chart and on August 20 they are trending in fifth and sixth positions respectively.

The memes "#whybeinarelationshipif" and "#whatmadeyouthink" are currently in second and third place while "#happy18thbdaydemi," a hashtag used to wish American actress Demi Lovato a happy 18th birthday, is sitting in fourth place.

On August 19 Intel announced a deal that would see the computer component manufacturer purchase computer security company McAfee for $7.68 billion. The news has sent "McAfee" into seventh place on Twitter's trending topic list.

In ninth place is the term "Facebook Places." Social networking site Facebook revealed its new location-based check-in service on August 19 and people on Twitter can't stop talking about it.

American rapper Kayne West posted a remix of a song from his forthcoming album on his blog, http://www.kanyeuniversecity.com/blog/, on August 20. Since sharing the news, "Power Remix" has moved into eighth place.

"GMTV," (aka ITV Breakfast Limited) the name of a breakfast TV show in the UK, is trending in tenth place after a taped interview with Justin Bieber aired.
