Influential bloggers and technology specialists gather in Paris for Europe’s top internet event

LeWeb is the biggest internet event in the European calendar bringing together speakers, entrepreneurs, investors, the media, and technology buffs to discuss a "new web."

In excess of 1,800 participants will attend the sixth edition of LeWeb on December 9-10. The event will be held in Paris in Le cent Quatre - a large converted warehouse space usually reserved for contemporary art events.

The theme of LeWeb in 2009 is "Real-time Web" and speakers will cover all aspects of the changing internet - from social networking to cloud computing - and everything in between.

The hefty list of influential speakers for 2009 includes Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah; Michael Arrington, editor of TechCrunch; Ethan Beard, director of Facebook's Developer Platform; Osama Bedier, vp of PayPal, Platform and Emerging Technology; Richard Binhammer, senior manager of Corporate Affairs, Dell; Jean-Philippe Courtois, president of Microsoft International; Jack Dorsey, inventor, founder and chairman of Twitter; Daniel Ek,fFounder & CEO of Spotify; Chad Hurley, co-founder & CEO of YouTube, Inc.; and Justin Kan, founder and president of Justin.tv.

Companies and organizations such as Google, Microsoft Corporation, MySpace, Facebook, Nokia, Opera Software, Twitterfeed.com, Seesmic, Creative Commons, TweetMeme, Shazam Entertainment, TakingITGlobal and SoftTech VC will also be represented at the event.

Attendees will benefit from participatory seminars and hands-on workshops. Two hundred preselected companies will have the opportunity to present their StartUps in the LeWeb startup competition.
