Nokia is introducing mobile phone users to a new generation of mobile entertainment. The Finnish-based company has developed a mobile application that fuses mapping with location-based technology and mobile gaming.

The result is an application called Ovi Maps Racing. Players use their GPS-enabled device to find their current location on Ovi Maps. Using these maps players can create their own, unique racing track.

If the local streets don't provide enough inspiration to raise heartbeats, players will be comforted in the fact that they can also create their racing track using any other Ovi Maps location in the world.

Once the track has been created players can fire up their engines and go speeding around their own back yard.

The innovative new application can be downloaded for free (for a limited time) from February 2 from Nokia's Ovi Store.
