The Motorola Charm is a touchscreen smartphone with a compact design and enhanced social networking features.
A touch sensitive "Backtrack" trackpad (similar to those found on a laptop) has been integrated into the rear of the device. It enables users to have an unobstructed view of the screen whilst browsing the web, reading mails or navigating through messages.
The Motorola Charm will be the first device in the US to feature an "enhanced" version of Motorola's Motoblur social networking aggregating software on Google's Android 2.1 OS. It also packs in a 2.8 inch touchscreen, Adobe Flash support, a 3 megapixel camera, WiFi and push email.
The full QWERTY keyboard is reminiscent of those found on RIM's BlackBerry handsets; the form factor hints at the current square trend that has influenced the design of mobiles devices such as Nokia's 7705 Twist, Sony Ericsson's Experia X10 Mini Pro, and Microsoft's Kin One.
The Motorola Charm will be released in the US in summer on T-Mobile. No information about price has been announced.
