All eyes in the technology scene are now firmly fixed on the 2011 edition of the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The ground-breaking products and forward thinking technology on display during the show makes CES one the most keenly watched events in the technology calendar. Also on the horizon is the annual Macworld Expo, the largest annual Apple Macintosh event in the world.

The International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is the world's largest consumer technology trade show. It is also one of the most closely followed events on the technology calendar - alongside CeBIT and Computex Taipei - as it welcomes numerous high-profile technology companies and is the launch-place for many groundbreaking new gadgets and high-tech products. CES attracts around 126,600 visitors each year and is a "must-see" event for technology enthusiasts.

NextGen Conference

NextGen is a one day conference that partners aspiring young entrepreneurs with their more experienced counterparts and venture capitalists. Speakers include President of Clarium Capital Management Peter Thiel, Square COO Keith Rabois, and entrepreneurs Mark Suster, Travis Kalanick and Larry Chiang. The NextGen Conference is a niche event and is much smaller than TiEcon (the world's largest conference for entrepreneurs) or Standford's eConference.

Macworld Expo

Founded in 1985, the Macworld Conference and Expo is the largest annual Apple Macintosh event in the world. Hundreds of companies offering dedicated Mac products and services will be at the event to share their expert advice and show off their latest technology. Well over 35,000 people have already pre-registered for Macworld 2011 making it much larger than Apple's own annual World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) which is capped at around 5,000 places.

Global Game Jam

The Global Game Jam is a gaming tournament but rather than applauding player skills, it elevates designers' digits and programmers' prowess. Over 120 worldwide tournament locations have been officially registered as venues for the game-making frenzy, where competitors are organized into adhoc teams before attempting to churn out one of the best games of the tournament. The top entries are then put forward for March's prestigious Game Developers Conference in San Diego.

GSMA Mobile World Congress
