The week of April 26 is a big week for internet conferences and events across the globe. The inventor of the World Wide Web, Sir Tim Berners-Lee, will be speaking at the international World Wide Web conference in the USA. In Amsterdam the future of the web will be explored at the Next Web Conference and RIM will be hosting their annual BlackBerry Wireless Enterprise Symposium in Orlando, USA.

The FITC Toronto design and technology festival offers more than 70 presentations, demonstrations and panel discussions on the creative technical and business aspects of Flash and digital media. More than 1000 attendees are expected to travel from all sides of the globe to explore up-and-coming technologies, exchange ideas and develop new skills. In 2010 the theme for the event is ‘playground'. A high-profile list of speakers will be presenting their ideas during the conference in 2010 including the inventor of the World Wide Web, Sir Tim Berners-Lee; Archivist of the United States, David Ferriero; Vint Cerf, vice president and Chief Internet Evangelist for Google; UNC professor and Director of iBiblio.org, Paul Jones; Andrew McLaughlin, Deputy U.S. Chief Technology Officer in the Executive Office of the President; and University of Southampton Professor Nigel Shadbolt, Director of the Web Science Trust and Web Foundation. The Australian edition of the world's largest digital IT and telecommunications event, CeBIT will take place in Sydney, Australia. CeBIT Australia is hailed as the country's largest ICT exhibition (but is only around a 10th of the size of its parent event, CeBIT in Hannover). CeBIT Australia is a focal point of an additional series of events (including AusInnovate, eHealth, eGovernment, Enterprise, National Broadbrand Network and WebForward) that will run concurrently to the exhibition. More than 550 exhibitors and 37,000 delegates are expected to attend CeBIT Australia in 2010.

The 30th edition of Computex Taipei, is organized by Taiwan External Trade Development Council and the Taiwan Computer Association. It is now the largest computer exhibition in Asia, second in the world only to CeBIT in Germany. Many large computing firms have research and development centers or production factories in Taiwan and they come to Computex Taipei to launch their new products. Almost 120,000 visitors attended Computex Taipei in 2009 to see products and services from over 1,700 exhibitors.
