Stockholm's Millennium Tour is worth investigating

The Millennium Tour on the central island of Sodermalm in Stockholm takes in the various haunts of cyber-goth Lisbeth Salander and her ally, the investigative journalist Mikael Blomkvist. Presumably, the tour doesn't include the riper, kinkier and more distressing elements of Larsson's hugely successful (over 60 million readers) crime trilogy? "No, not really," says Sara Claesson, somewhat anticlimactically. Instead, the head of communications for the tour emphasises the appeal of Salander. "She is so 'Pippi Longstocking', a very famous character from a Swedish children's book by Astrid Lindgren," maintains Claesson. "She's obstinate, small, smart and strong."

Round-Up: Wildcats fall short after John's missed conversion

Wakefield fell agonisingly short of pulling off a shock at Warrington when Isaac John's conversion attempt missed by the narrowest of margins. The Wildcats led for most of the game, only for the Wolves to get their noses in front near the end. Vince Mellars' try cut the margin to 32-30, but John could not snatch a draw.

Round-Up: Warrington salvage draw after Evans' last-gasp try

A late try by Rhys Evans salvaged a 20-20 draw for the Super League favourites, Warrington, at Hull. The home side had made all the running, partly thanks to two tries from Danny Tickle. "I thought we did enough to win," said their new coach, Peter Gentle, but Evans had other ideas.
