DVD: No Strings Attached (15)

Precisely what induced two of Hollywood's brightest stars, Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher, to appear in this hackneyed romantic comedy isn't clear.

Natalie Portman gives birth

Natalie Portman has become a mother for the first time.

'Bring me the head of Kermit Warm'

Thor, Kenneth Branagh, 114 mins (12A)

Kenneth Branagh's comic-book caper is jolly and boisterous with a starry cast, even if the exiled god of thunder doesn't crack many jokes

Your Highness (15)

Starring: James Franco, Danny McBride, Natalie Portman, Toby Jones

Double trouble for Portman

Like most winners of the Best Actress Oscar, Natalie Portman devoted a huge proportion of her victory speech in February to a series of tearful thank you messages to the people who she believed had helped on the long journey to the summit of her profession.

Phil Boucher wonders if the greatest trick Lucifer ever pulled was to inspire such dangerous creativity

Black & White, Coliseum, London

Serge Lifar's Suite en Blanc opens with an image of a ballet company. The dancers are posed in serried ranks, in plain tights and white tutus. It's a large-scale showcase – but it needs more clarity and confidence than English National Ballet show us.

Diary: A wacko tribute to Jacko

Mohamed Al Fayed, chairman of Fulham FC, is to unveil a new commemorative statue at the Craven Cottage stadium. Said statue will join the existing memorial to "Cottagers" legend Johnny Haynes at a club which also features Bobby Moore, George Best and Alan Mullery among its alumni. And no, before you ask: the latest hero to be honoured like Haynes is not Roy Hodgson. It's, erm... Michael Jackson. Mr Fayed, his club's website dutifully reports, will unveil the statue on 3 April "to honour the friendship he shared with the legendary performer... [The statue] was originally planned to be erected outside his Harrods store. However, subsequent to the sale of the Knightsbridge landmark, it was decided that Craven Cottage was the natural alternative for the tribute."

Show goes on sans Galliano

It was something like business as usual for Christian Dior yesterday as the autumn/winter 2011 show went ahead after the dismissal earlier this week of creative director John Galliano.

Portman singled out in Huckabee's family tirade

She won the acclaim of her peers, and a place in Hollywood history, when she won this year's Best Actress Oscar for her performance in Black Swan.

John Galliano says sorry over 'racism'

Designer John Galliano, who was sacked by fashion house Dior over alleged racist comments, broke his silence today and said: "I unreservedly apologise for my behaviour in causing any offence."

Censored: Natalie Portman’s Oscar frock horror

Perhaps the most entertaining moment at last night’s Oscars came when Best Actress Natalie Portman trooped backstage to discuss her success with the world’s assembled media.

Howl, Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman, 93 mins (15)<br/>West Is West, Andy DeEmmony, 102 mins (15)
