Great ski getaways: SkiEurope, St Anton and Les Menuires
The end of the ski season is imminent ... but the snow is still falling and there are deals to be snapped up. All the below fly out from the UK in the next fortnight and get you a week on the slopes for under £400, excluding equipment and lift passes.
High hopes
Online operator SkiEurope has a host of last-minute trips. For £395 per person, you can spend seven nights in Val Thorens – the highest resort in the Alps and one of the main hubs of the Trois Vallées, the largest interlinked ski area in the world. The price is based on two sharing and applies to departures from Gatwick to Grenoble on Monarch on 13 April, The package includes a fully catered stay at Chalet Renod, and transfers (skieuropeonline.co.uk).
Tyrolean trip
The appeal of Austrian resorts has been on the ascendant this season – and St Anton is one of the best. Inghams is offering a week-long escape to the high-altitude Tyrolean resort for £399 per person, with flights from either Gatwick or Manchester to Innsbruck on 6 April, transfers and a catered stay at Chalet Alpenheim, only a three-minute walk from the village and a short ski down the slope to the nearest gondola (inghams.co.uk).
French flit
Thomson Ski has a week in the small resort of Les Menuires, in the Savoy region of the French Alps, for £399 per person. The deal includes half-board accommodation at the Hotel Piolet, with Thomson Airways flights from Gatwick to Geneva next Saturday, 6 April, and transfers (thomsonski.co.uk).
