A study has shown that when in comes to language, the North/South divide could be fading away...

The study, entitled Language Variation and Change' and conducted by the University of Manchester, found that as Southern chit-chat spreads upwards, words such as 'roll' are being used more frequently in the North of the UK (as opposed to 'bap' or 'bun').

But can you name the meaning of these Northern words and expressions?
