THE slaughter of thousands of migrating birds heading for Britain by Frenchmen is abhorrent ('Gummer puts birds in line of French fire', 27 March). To visualise hordes of so-called civilised men travelling to bird- migrating channels deliberately to shoot song birds out of the sky for amusement gave me a sleepless night.
