ACCORDING to a Minnesota University survey, we spend five years of our lives queueing. ('Have we queued our last?', 2 January). This amounts to 7.1 per cent of a 70- year lifetime or 1.7 hours in every 24. Does anybody, in Britain or in Minnesota, really spend 1 hour 42 minutes queueing every day? Am I uniquely privileged or uniquely deprived that I queue for less than five minutes a day?
