NICK Cohen's article on shaving ('To shave and shave not', 24 July) is the most appalling example of beardism. The wearing of beards has always been a sign of political progressiveness, which explains why Marx, Engels, Lenin and Trotsky all had one while Stalin had only a moustache and Tony Blair is clean-shaven.
