Letter: A lesson in humanity
Sir: Newton Emerson (letter, 22 May) asks if "public disgust" at the actions of the student who microwaved a hedgehog merits "wasting his expensive education" by imposing a custodial sentence. But what is the value of that education if it hasn't taught him the basic principles of human, and humane, behaviour?
