Letter: A little learning

WILLIAM LEITH has studied literature at university, speaks French and German and writes for the quality press. He is thus an expert on the futility of teaching Shakespeare to the brute offspring of the lumpen proletariat.

I suggest that Mr Leith confine himself to writing about 'those people' who spend their time in 'dark rooms drugged out of their minds'. I look forward to his next article on the Groucho Club.
